Carla was born and raised in Gainesville, Ga, graduating from Gainesville High School before leaving home to earn dual undergraduate degrees from the University of Georgia and a Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams University School of Law. During that time, Ms. Walker served as the President of the Student Bar Association and was a member of the Moot Court Board. While away at school, she met her husband, Spencer, who returned to Gainesville with her to focus on career and family. Together they have a wonderful son and daughter, who are following mom’s footsteps through the Gainesville school system.

Carla was formerly a partner at the local firm Whelchel, Dunlap, Jarrard & Walker, LLP where she worked for 11 years, honing her skills in real estate and business. As that chapter in life came to a close, she shifted into the world of real estate development, providing counsel for medical, commercial, multifamily and residential developers. She enjoys the depth of involvement and ongoing relationships that this work generally requires.

When not at the office, Carla enjoys spending time with her family on their North Hall horse farm. She is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the State Bar of Georgia. She sits on the executive board of the Gainesville-Northeastern Bar Association. She serves on the Quinlan board of trustees and will dance in the 2023 Dancing for a Cause competition.
